Claudia Turbay


Claudia Dinora Turbay Quintero (Bogotá, June 27, 1952) is a Colombian diplomat and journalist. She has served as Ambassador of Colombia to Switzerland, with dual accreditation as a non-resident ambassador to Liechtenstein, Ambassador of Colombia to Uruguay with double accreditation as Permanent Representative of Colombia to the Latin American Integration Association of Montevideo, has worked with Proexport, holding various positions, including the Commercial Director at the Miami offices, eventually being appointed president of the agency in 2002.

Claudia Turbay is a journalist at Fordham University with a Masters in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University Personal life

Claudia is the daughter of former president of Colombia Julio César Turbay Ayala and former first lady of Colombia Nydia Quintero. They are of Lebanese origin and Basque descent. He is third of four children, his other brothers are Julio Caesar, Diana and Maria Victoria. He married Jaime Granja Leudo with whom he had a daughter, Claudia Alejandra, but later he divorced. Of his second marriage had two children Laura and Santiago.
