The Hondo Group was a group of Spanish painters, created in 1961 in Madrid. Its founders were Juan Genovés, José Paredes Jardiel, Fernando Mignoni and Gastón Orellana, who gathered for a joint exhibition at the Neblí Gallery in Madrid. Opposing the abstraction of informal art, they use a neo-figurative Expressionist style applied by fast, automatic and free techniques, to translate "the chronicle of Spanish reality". In 1963 they prepared a second exhibition in the Society of Friends of Art, in Madrid, in which Jose Vento and Carlos Sansegundo were added. The group was dissolved in 1964.
