Ilan Fernández
Ilan Fernández, born in Medellín forty years ago. He has lived in Florida and Spain, where his most known activity has been drug trafficking. As a result of the death of his father, Ilan Fernandez and his family, they move to Florida and it is here where they begin their adventures in the world of drug trafficking, at the tender age of 15 years, amassing a great fortune in less than 2 years. Convicted, at first, to 18 years of prison for being one of the couriers that introduced the cocaine in Europe, was stopped in Barcelona, with little more than 17 years, where it spent 2 long years in the prison of Four ways, before to be extradited to the United States, where he served a further sentence of 6 years in San Quentin prison.
In this last stage of presidio, life changed completely for Ilan Fernandez. Having as his cellmate another Colombian, and after the death of his sister, Ilan asked him how he was. His companion with an ironic gesture answered him: "fucking mother". After some laughter between them, they decided to print that phrase on a garment, which was seen by one of their jailers, who asked them to do the same for a nephew of his, who used it to go to a nightclub. The jailer's nephew returned very happy from the nightclub, since his shirt had been a success among his friends and everyone wanted an equal. So enthusiastic about the project, the two prisoners, asked their white t-shirts that they decorated themselves with phrases they chose, in contests, that they organized, among fellow inmates. Phrases like "fuck barbie" or "kill barbie", were born of these initiatives. This is how the brand of "motherfuckin" clothes was born, agreeing between the two companions, that the brand would be exploited, by the first of them to leave the prison. As an anecdote, the tagline "69", was introduced in the original name of the mark, as a symbol to the most widespread thought among prisoners: Sex.
Time later Ilan Fernández regained his freedom, moving to Formentera (Spain), to start a new life working in a bar and selling his works as designer of clothing among the shops of the town. Some time later, he presented his project to two textile entrepreneurs of Rome, who offered him the opportunity to work in that city. At first, the idea did not seem very worthy of business, to these entrepreneurs, but after a few months, some 20,000 units had already been sold. But luck for Ilan, it had only begun: Time later, in an Italian television program of prime hearing, appeared one of the contestants with one of its works, firing the benefit of its products until the 60 million euros.
Currently living in Rome happily married to the world champion water-jet, Elisa Sabanito, waiting for her first child. Among his latest projects are the interest shown by the world famous film director Steven Spielberg, to bring to the big screen the life of this man, which we will soon enjoy.
