Rovio Entertainment Ltd. (English: Rovio Entertainment Ltd.), which was previously popularized as Rovio Mobile or Rail, is a video game developer company of Espoo, Finland. The company first came in 2003 as a mobile game developer studio, and its Rowvo official name renamed to Relude in 2005. This company is known for its over-popular game series Angry Birds.
History
In 2003, three students of Alto University, whose names respectively, were participated in the mobile game development competition, respectively, by Nickelas Head, Jarno Wakavanan and Kim Dickert, Assembly and Assembly sponsored by Nokia and HP. In that competition a multiplayer game King of the Cabage World (King of the World of Cobbler) conquered them and they planned to build their own official company. King of the cabage was sold to the world called Sumea (Sumaa Studios), the game's renaming of Mol War (the Battle of the Chhurturs), which became famous as the first multiplayer game.
In January 2005, Rail received its first investment from an investor named Business England, and renamed the name as Rovio Mobile.
In December 2009, he launched his 52th game Angry Birds in the market of Ios, which was a slug-riddled game. Angry Birds replaced the first popular game in just 6 months in the market. More than a billion downloads of the game made him the most purchased game.
In March 2011, Rovio received $ 42 million in funding from Essel Partners, Atomiko and Felicis Ventures. In July 2011, the company changed its name to Rovio Entertainment Limited. In June 2011, Rovio appointed David Mycel as the head of production of Angry Birds Movie. In October 2012, Rovio bought Combo Animation Studios in Helsinki, Finland. This studio was acquired for the production of small movies released in 2012.
In March 2012, he bought Futuremark Studios (Game Development Division of the Benchmarking Company) in an unknown amount. On November 8, 2012, Rovio introduced the Angry Birds Star Wars to the mobile and PC market and started its licensed journey through the real Star Wars trilogy.
