Roc Nation

Roc Nation is an American record company. The record label is distributed by Universal Music Group. The main company is managed in collaboration with Warner / Chappell Music. History

In April 2008, Live Nation teamed up with Jay-Z for the creation of Roc Nation. In 2008, American hip-hop artist Jay-Z and Norwegian composer-producers Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen from the duo of Stargate producers formed Star Roc's label. The record company was an association between Stargate and Roc Nation. Star Roc has venues and recording studios in Manhattan and New York.

In early April 2013, Roc Nation formed a new division of sports management, Roc Nation Sports. The new company will act as an intermediary between high-level athletes and sports teams and companies looking to take advantage of their skills. It was also announced that in May 2013 Jay-Z signed a multi-year deal with Universal Music Group to distribute all future Roc Nation and Warner / Chappell Music albums for the company's global management.
