The Georgian Institute in Athens is one of 17 foreign archaeological institutes in Greece, all headquartered in Athens.

The institute was elevated to the rank of an "archaeological school" by the Greek Ministry of Education in 1998. It was the first Georgian institution abroad. The Institute's activities cover all aspects of the Georgian-Georgian cultural exchange, and scientific research is not directed solely at archeology. Director of the Institute is currently Avtandil Mikaberidze. Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext Foreign archaeological institutes in Greece
