Stacking press

The stacking resistance (BCT value of English Box compression test) specifies the force that a package can pick up and remove without kinking.

The BCT value is therefore a measure of the stability of a package and is expressed in kN (kilonewton). This value is dependent on the humidity or the moisture content of the folding box as well as on the material structure (cardboard, solid board, corrugated cardboard, single or multiwell / layer, powerliner, testliner, fluting, fiber length, etc.). The edge resistance (ECT value) can be calculated using the McKee formula to calculate the BCT value. In order to calculate the BCT value, the formula according to McKee is the simplest, but also the most imprecise. In practice, the BCT value is determined using a stacking press. Edit source text
