Peter Hinterdorfer


Peter Hinterdorfer (born January 13, 1963 in Bad Aussee, Austria) is an Austrian physicist and university professor at the Institute of Biophysics at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. Edit LifeQualtext

Hinterdorfer studied Technical Physics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, where he promoted in 1992. Already during his doctorate (1988-1992) he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Biophysics. Afterwards, Hinterdorfer was a research assistant at the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia, USA. After his return in 1993, he joined the Institute of Biophysics at JKU Linz as a university assistant, where he qualified as a professor in 2001. Hinterdorfer was appointed Professor of Biophysics at the Institute of Biophysics on 1 January 2010.
