National Movement Imbokodvo

The Imbokodvo National Movement or Imbokodvo National Movement (INM) is a political party of Swaziland. History

In the early 1960s, political activity intensified in Swaziland claiming Britain's independence and economic development. During this period many new political parties emerged which had many supporters in the cities but not in the rural areas where most of the Swazi population lived. Thus, King Sobhuza II, his Council and traditional Swazi leaders created the Imbokodvo National Movement that managed to identify with the traditional way of life. Responding to the pressure of the country's political situation, the Colonial Government set the date for the first democratic elections in 1964, where two chambers were elected: one that defended the interests of white settlers and another that guarded those of colonists. the native Swazis.

One year after the 1972 elections, King Sobhuza II dissolved parliament and banned political parties. Results
