Mariano Castillo Larenas (Buin, Metropolitan Region of Santiago, Chile, December 25, 1905 - September 23, 1970) was a Chilean chess player.

He was a teacher of English and French, dedicating himself to the chess in his step by the Lyceum Miguel Amunategui, having its first outstanding performance in 1920, in the championship of Chile, gained by Carlos Peralta.

Results in competition

He was a nine-time winner of the Chess Championship in Chile in 1924, 1926, 1927, 1929, 1934, 1940, 1948, 1949 and 1953. He was only surpassed (later) by Rodrigo Flores, editions won.

Participated representing Chile in two Chess Olympiads in 1939 in Buenos Aires and 1950 in Dubrovnik.
