Flag of the province of Cumaná

Flag of the Province of Nueva Andalucía or Cumaná.

During the colony, the Government of Nueva Andalucía (or Cumaná) had its own flag. Also the Government of Caracas (or Venezuela) had its own. It is no coincidence that the flag of Venezuela is made up of the flags of the two cities that contributed most to the struggle for independence.

The flag of the province of Cumaná was composed of three horizontal bands: a blue band between two yellow bands and in the center the shield of the city.
