Amangeldy Hydyr


Amangeldy Hydyr (Arapjik, Balkan Province, Turkmenistan, 1951) is a Turkmen painter. His work stands out for his focus on the nature and ancient history of Turkmenistan. Trees, shrubs, animals, birds and stonework are recurrent themes of his work. Hydyr has been a member of the Painters' Union of Turkmenistan since 1988, and has continued to hold exhibitions at exhibitions countries. His work has been especially appreciated in Moscow, where he has held several exhibitions including My Turkmenistan (1997) and In the Karakym Desert (1998). In 2006 he presented about one hundred paintings in the Exhibition Hall of the Ministry of Culture in Ashgabat . The Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan and other Balkanabat museums have acquired their works.
