Aedes Tensarum
The Aedes Tensarum (also Aedes Thensarum, Thensarium or Tensarium Vetus) was a small sanctuary in the area Capitolina in the immediate vicinity of the temple for Iuppiter Optimus Maximus on the Capitol in Rome. It is mentioned in a military diploma and specifies a location. The small building probably served to store the silver and ivory carriages, the tensae, in which statues of gods were transferred to Circus Maximus. It was also known as the Tensarium. After the car of the Iuppite had been placed in Circus Maximus, it was called Tensarium Vetus. The exact location of the building is not localized. Edit source text Single-level Edit source text
