Culen of Scotland

Culen of Scotland (in Scottish Gaelic Cuilen mac Iduilb, died in 971) was King of Scotland from 967 to 971. He was one of three children of Indulf (Ildulb Mac Causantín). He was involved in the death of his predecessor Dubh (Dubh mac Maíl Coluim), but could not prevent anarchy and died with his brother Eochaid in a battle against the king of Strathclyde in 971. He is buried in Iona < / p>

Culen was succeeded on the throne by Dubh's brother, Kenneth II (Cinéed mac Maíl Coluim). The son of Culen, Constantino III (Causantín mac Cuilén), was king later.
