Andrus Point


The Andrus Point is a striking, rocky and finger-shaped headland on the east coast of the East Antarctic Viktorialand. It rises into Lady Newnes Bay in the direction of the floating glacier of the Parker Glacier.

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Commander Harold Rex Andrus (* 1924), logistics officer at the command center of the support units of the United States Navy United States Navy in Antarctica from 1962 to 1966.
