Südhumbrische Verdumpfung

Southern Humming is a saturation of the Old English to a ɔ: -Laut in the 12th century in the areas of England, which are located south of the river Humber. North of the Humber, this vowel remained unchanged. The river Humber thus represents an isogloss in this case. The term "southern humming dripping" is rather unusual in English itself. This is simply referred to as rounding or occasionally also southern rounding. EffectsChoose source text
