Hans-Georg Reinertz studied at the Royal Conservatory of Liège and the Musikhochschule in Cologne. He completed his studies with master classes with Lionel Rogg, Michael Radulescu, Guy Bovet and Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini. He founded the Musica Viva Eupen in 1974 and the summer courses for music in 1978. Since 1987 he is President of the Federation "Youth & Music East Belgium ". He directed the vocal ensembles Musica Viva Eupen until 2010. Concert tours took him to Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, England, Poland, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the U.S.A.

He taught organ and flute at the "Académie de Musique" in Welkenraedt and the music academy of the German-speaking Community of Belgium, whose director he has been since August 2008.
