El Chaparral (Murcia)

The Chaparral is a small hamlet of the municipality of Cehegín, located in the Northwest Region of the Region of Murcia in Spain.

The Chaparral had a population of about 150 people at the end of the first decade of the 21st century, which are scattered by its small urban centers: Las Casas de Arriba, Las Casas de Abajo and Chaparral.

After the transfer of the only factory known nationally ("Patatas Rubio") to the town of Bullas in the late twentieth century and closed magnetite mines at the beginning of the same century, the main source of economic income is the agriculture of (represented by the almond tree and the olive tree) and the irrigated land (represented by the apricot tree and the peach tree), and the vine.

Noteworthy of its festivities:

According to its inhabitants, its origin dates back some 200 years.
