Joan Ford’s Newtake

Joan Ford’s Newtake

Joan Ford's Newtake (also called Joan Ford Newtake East) is a ring Cairn, near the Swincombe River west of Hexworthy in Devon in England containing a rock star. A more or less continuous rim ring of upright boulders from 0.3 m to 0.6 m high surrounds the hill of about 8.7 m diameter disturbed by a field boundary of dry stonework

The well-preserved north-west southeast oriented rock bottom is 1.0 m long, 0.5 to 0.65 m wide and up to 0.7 m deep. The 1.35 × 1.0 × 0.2 m measuring capstone is leaning against the southeast side of the crate.
