María del Carmen de la Peña Corcuera (Madrid, November 2, 1952) is a Spanish diplomat, since October 2011, the ambassador of Spain to Qatar, replacing Juan José Santos Aguado.

Graduated in Law, entered in 1979 in the Diplomatic Career. It has been destined in the Spanish diplomatic representations in People's Republic of China and Brazil. She has been a Technical Adviser to the United Nations Organization contracted by the Economic Commission for Africa, Assistant Director-General for Cooperative Action and Deputy Director General of Sub-Saharan Africa. In 1996 she was appointed Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in London and in 2001 she became the second Head of the Spanish Embassy in Israel. In June 2004 she was appointed ambassador of Spain to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. From June 2008 to July 2010 she was Director General of Foreign Policy for Africa and in 2010 was appointed Director General for Africa.
