The Darleith Dovecot is a deaf tower near the Scottish town of Cardross. It is located on the lands of the western, listed Loans House, and is situated directly on a dirt road, which in former times had a road of greater importance. It is a four-storey, dubbed tower with a base area of 6 m × 4 m. While the lower two floors of the tower tapering upwards follow the rectangular ground plan, the upper two are of round form. The tower closes with a slate-covered Kegeldach crowning a weather banner. The building is built of stone. Both sandstone and eruptive rock were used. Individual sites have remnants of plastering in the traditional Harling technique. The edges of the lower two floors are offset by the use of corner stones. The window openings are bordered with square blocks. The upstream entrance area consists of a wide opening, which may not correspond to the original condition and which was extended later. Above this is an ornamental gable to be found. The tower has various openings for the entrance of the pigeons. Several windows are now closed by walls.
