The Natural Areas Area of the Diputación de Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) manages the 12 natural spaces that form the Natural Parks Network and promotes policies and tools for the protection, planning and development of province of Barcelona.
Fields of activity
In addition to the management of the 12 parks of the Natural Parks Network, the Area advises the municipalities in the following areas: planning, territorial analysis of free spaces and prevention of forest fires.
It has the SITxell program (Territorial Information System of the network of free spaces); the municipal prevention of forest fires is carried out by the Technical Office of Municipal Forest Fire Prevention and is entrusted with the management of the Besòs River Park in the municipalities of Barcelona, San Adrián de Besós, Santa Coloma de Gramanet and Moncada and Reixach. Also from the Area is promoted the Circle of Friends of Natural Parks, entity with more than 10 years of history that exceeds four thousand members. Related pages
