The Viking Ship Museum or Vikingeskibsmuseet is a museum located in Roskilde (Denmark), which features Vikings' time boats found submerged in the Roskilde Fjord.

The ships were purposely sunk, around 1000 AD, alongside Skudelev, to protect the city from enemy invasions by sea. The objective was fulfilled, having been obstructed the main navigable area.

In 1962, excavations were carried out to reveal the existence of ships. Five different types were identified, used for military and commercial expeditions.

The museum was built in 1969, next to the fjord, to house the 5 boats found.

Currently, the museum highlights the largest of the warships found, Skudelev II, so named in honor of the site where it was found. It was built in Dublin in 1042.

The museum's facilities were expanded in 1997, now having an island and a port, where it is possible to visit a collection of replicas of Nordic boats and Vikings. It is possible to observe, also, the construction of the replicas, according to the ancestral techniques of construction.
