Róitegui


The town of Róitegui (in Euskera Erroitegi and officially Róitegui / Erroitegi) belongs to the municipality of Arraya-Maestu, in Álava (Spain). The extensive municipality of Arraya-Maestu belongs to the group of the Alava mountain. Formed by several valleys around the Berrón (Arraya Valley) and Musitu (Laminoria Valley) streams, this extensive municipality is surrounded by the mountains of Iturrieta and Vitoria. Etymology

The name in Euskera, Erroitegi, from which the name in Castilian derives, means "corveras" (or "crows' nests") of erroi = big raven or corneja + tegi = site.
