Mute Magazine

Mute Magazine is a British magazine specializing in "New Media" and activism. It was created in 1984 by Simon Worthington and Pauline van Mourik Broekman, who continue to direct the magazine alongside an editorial board composed of Anthony Iles, Ben Seymour and Jamie King.

From this magazine a critical front has been generated that has analyzed the evolutions of the new technologies in relation to the art, the culture, the regimes of power and the forms of control bio-political.

Many social analysts, academics, or activists like Marina Vishmidt, Anthony Davies, Tiziana Terranova, John Hutnyk, Stewart Home, YProductions, etc. have collaborated on their pages.

A new phase called MuteII has begun, in which there are compilatory editions of material on the same subject, such as an edition on the notion of labor flexibility and another on intellectual property. Parallel projects like Open Mute, POD or Mutella are maintained.
