María Esperanza Morales Mérida (Tuxpan, Veracruz, November 29, 1913-1990) Mexican teacher, founder of the first mixed school on January 22, 1929, in the oil field of Palma Sola, a town belonging to the municipality of Coatzintla in the Mexican state of Veracruz in the vicinity of the current city of Poza Rica. Contributions Its figure is remembered as the first teacher to impart basic education to the children of the oil workers of that locality, that had its origins in the first half of century XX, from the boom of the oil industry of Mexico in the northern region of the Mexican state of Veracruz.
