Juan Bautista Peyronet

Juan Bautista Peyronet is a Spanish urbanist architect who devised various plazas in Spain at the end of the 19th century. He was professor of the School of Architecture. Its plans were famous to cover the reforms of the Puerta del Sol, in addition to channeling the Jucar river and being able to fertilize lands of the province of Alicante. The proposal of Peyronet, architect of the Municipal Works Commission of Madrid, elevated to official in 1856, made that the Puerta del Sol had the current space.
