Indirect Suffrage


The President of the Government of Spain is elected by indirect suffrage. Voters choose the Congress of Deputies, which then elects the president.

Indirect suffrage is a process in which voters in an election do not choose between candidates for a position but rather representatives who select the appropriate public office. This is a system opposed to direct suffrage.
