Hibera
Hibera or Ciudad Ibera was an Iberian city of the Illercavones tribe, located in the final stretch of the Ebro, destroyed during the Second Punic War. Tito Livio mentions it as close to the river, but does not say exactly where it was, although the context suggests that it was near the coast.
In a Roman coin of the time of Augustus is mentioned as Mun. Hibera Julia and, behind it, Ilercavonia, basically the same as it is seen in a coin of the time of Tiberius, but with the addition DERT, so it is identified with Dertosa (today Tortosa) or its surroundings, towards the towns of Amposta or San Carlos de la RĂ¡pita, by which its port would have been perhaps the port of Los Alfaques (Alfacs or port of the jaws).
