Peter I († 24 February 1404 in Ebrach) was abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Ebrach from 1385 to 1404. Edit LifeQualtext

Peter I was born in the 14th century. The birthplace of the later abbot is unknown, but a place in the Franconian region is likely to become a monastery entrance to the Steigerwald Abbey. Likewise, the parents and any siblings are not known. Peter probably entered the monastery quite young, and soon made his vow. He quickly got up inside the monastery, but he did not know what positions he held.

After the death of his predecessor Otto Jäger from Austria, the monks chose Peter as his successor. The newly elected prelate had to fight with the consequences of the Franconian town war. Bishop Gerhard von Schwarzburg fought the Free Imperial cities and also affected the Abbey area. In the course of this war, the Collegium of the Abbey in Würzburg was closed and moved to Erfurt in 1394. Peter I. acquired some goods. He died on February 24, 1404.
