Marko Frank


Marko Frank (* 25 December 1968 in Friedrichroda) is a German nordic combiner who started for the German Democratic Republic. He belonged to the ASK Vorwärts Oberhof and took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988. Edit CareerQuelltext

In 1987 he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in the Italian town of Asiago. In the single competition he won the bronze medal behind his countryman Thomas Prenzel and the Norwegian Trond Arne Bredesen. He won the gold medal in the team competition together with Thomas Abratis and Thomas Prenzel. In the same year he participated in the Nordic Skiing World Championships 1987 in Oberstdorf. In the individual competition, he finished 15th and took the sixth place in the team competition together with Thomas Abratis and Uwe Prenzel.

On 9 January 1988 he won his first World Cup points in the World Cup of the Nordic Combined. In the competition of the 1987/88 season in the Swiss town of St. Moritz he took the seventh place. This seventh place is the best place in the World Cup. He finished the World Cup with a total of 24 points to the 15th place. In the 1987/88 season he was also able to participate in the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary. In the single competition, he finished eighth.
