Key of Solomon

The Great Pentacle, drawn in a manuscript of the Key of Solomon.

Solomon's Key (in Latin: Clavicle Salomonis, Little Key of Solomon; in Hebrew: Mafteaḥ Shelomoh [מפתח שלמה]) is a grimoire attributed to King Solomon. Probably goes back to the XIV or XV century of the Italian Renaissance. It is presented as a typical example of Renaissance magic. It is possible that Solomon's Key inspired later works, particularly the seventeenth-century grimoire, also known as Clavicula Salomonis Regis, The Lesser Key of Solomon or Lemegeton, although there are many differences between books.
