Gonidio
A gonidium (in Latin Gonidium, gonidia pl) is a cell or group of asexual reproductive cells that originate in or on gametophytes, in special organs.For example, zoospores are gonidians and teraspores. It also refers to any algae that lives in symbiosis with the fungus in a lichen consortium. Each of the green chlorophilic cells, which are inside the stem of a lichen and sometimes constitute a defined layer, but are often scattered. Examples of gonidia in lichens
