Disappointment

For other uses of this term, see Island Deception and deception (military term). It should not be confused with deception.

Disappointment is a feeling of dissatisfaction that arises when expectations about a desire or a person are not met. It is formed in uniting two primary emotions, surprise and grief. Disappointment, if it lasts, is a trigger for frustration and later, depression. Similar to repentance, it differs in that the feeling of repentance is basically focused on failures in personal choices while that of disappointment focuses more on the dissatisfaction from the external aspect. It is a source of psychological stress.

The disappointment arises from uniting surprise with an inner feeling of 'I can not'. The way to escape deception is to find out in a patient way a way of acting or a different strategy of doing something. For this, sometimes it is not enough to imitate or copy as others do, but to model others that bring us to the result or desire and eliminate what otherwise separates us from it.
