A setting plate (also known as a slat chisel) is a tool for measuring the height of the tread. It essentially resembles a water scale. It is usually used in combination with a dipstick or a leveling plate. A leveling unit with bars or slats is first measured using a leveling device. Furthermore, the setting plate is installed at the desired height transversely at the support points distributed on the ground.
