La Prainha is a beach in the municipality of Vila Velha, in Espírito Santo state, Brazil. It is of historical importance, since it was the place where the first grantee of the Captaincy of the Holy Spirit, Vasco Fernandes Coutinho, landed, on May 23, 1535, his Glory, with a crew of 60 Portuguese, beginning the Portuguese colonization of Holy Spirit.
