Flag of the Captaincy General of Nueva Andalucía

Flag of the Captaincy General of Cumaná Before the formation of the Captaincy General of Venezuela with the union of the provinces of Caracas, Cumaná, Margarita, Guayana and Maracaibo, each governor of province had at the same time the title of Captain General of that territory and therefore had his own military badge. The Captaincy General of New Andalusia had its own military flag distinctive and different from the one of the province and the one of the city. This one is conserved in the museum of the Indies of the Navy in Spain. A white upper strip, a lower green strip and in the middle the Cumaná shield.
