The tembo is a people of Central Africa, located to the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Like most peoples, they are in the two provinces of the Kivu. Estimated to more or less 500 thousand people, they cover a large part of the territory of Kalehe in South Kivu, and a quarter of Walikale, a quarter of Masisi in North Kivu. They have customs, cultures, to which they are very important. Most of them are Christians, mostly Protestants, few of them cross to Islam, but they always remember their ancestral gods (kimbirikiti, limombo, mundanda, ...) by adoring them, especially men. They are great farmers, a little pastors but big fish farmers.
