Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain


Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain is a British charitable medical research organization dedicated to treating multiple sclerosis neurological disease. The Company also undertakes to provide social and health care to anyone affected by this condition. It was founded in 1953 by Richard Cave, whose wife suffered from multiple sclerosis. As of January 2006, it has 43,000 members. Its headquarters are in Cricklewood, London.

The Society receives most of its income from personal donations. You also enter money through sponsored events. The creator of the Harry Potter series, J. K. Rowling, whose mother died of this disease in 1990, has contributed money and support for research and treatment of the disease.
