Flag of Brittany

The flag of the Parish of Breceña, Villaviciosa (Asturias) is rectangular, of proportions 2: 3 (width: long). Divided in four equal rectangles by two axes, vertical and horizontal, that cross in the center (quarter). The upper parts of the flagpole and inferior to the flagpole (first and fourth quarters) are white, with a purple rooster (Pantone 266) in its center, while the upper parts of the flagpole and inferior to the flagpole (second and third quarters) are purple Pantone 266).

The flag of Breceña alternates the purple cloth of the municipal flag of Villaviciosa, a council to which it belongs and to which it feels deeply united, with the white, where is the figure of a rooster, in representation of the Parish. The rooster, besides being a traditional animal of the Asturian rural environment, is one of the symbols of San Pedro, under whose invocation is the Parish of Breceña, because San Pedro denied to Jesus three times before the song of the rooster. It is a design of the Spanish Society of Vexilology, an institution to which the Neighborhood Board requested advice.
