Church of St. John of Malta


Detail of the facade. The Church of St. John of Malta in the city of Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain) is a reconstruction of the century. XIX, replaced an old oratory and dependence of Saint John of Malta that were built in the thirteenth century. The current building, dating from 1835, belongs to the order of the Teatinos parents.

It is a baroque church that shows the influence of Italian classicism, visible in the simple decoration of the facade. The plant is of single nave with lateral chapels.

On the facade there is a description that refers to the restoration of 1957 and a relief with the cross of Malta, where there is an image of San Juan. Above the portal there is a rosette, and above all, the Maltese cross inside a circle.
