Clemente Mejía Ávila


Clemente Mejía Avila (Acapulco, Guerrero, 1926 - idem, March 28, 1978) was a Mexican athlete who competed with the swim team at the London Olympic Games in 1948, obtaining a remarkable fourth place in a hundred meters style back or back.

Participated in the Central American and Caribbean Games and the Pan American Games. He was founder of the swimming club Tigres Marinos and Director of Sport of Acapulco and coach.

He died of a heart attack in the Olympic pool of the Mexican Institute of Social Security in Acapulco, Guerrero.
