Mustafa Mond

Mustafa Mond (Su Durata Mustafa Mond, for his full title) is a character in Aldous Huxley's novel A Brave New World.

Mustapha Mond holds the position of global auditor in Western Europe. It was he who decided to send an island to Bernard Marx and Helmholtz Watson as punishment for having an excess of personality, which presented a mystery to both until the inspector clarified to them that this fact was the best thing that could happen to them, since they were going to bump into different people with the same style of thinking.

Mustafa Mond reported that he would also feel very comfortable living on an island, at the time they had proposed the same, but he chose to continue serving the state as an inspector instead of conducting the study of physical sciences that interested him so much.

Mustafa is a person with a high intellectual level, understands the benefits of society as well as is and strives for its preservation, despite knowing that many beauties of the ancient civilization are being repressed, such as art, science, religion, family and literature. He knows God, Shakespeare, the great writers, historians, philosophers, scientists and politicians of the past, but the stability of society is in his hands and he can not reveal them. He was one of the few in society that understands the beauty of lost beauties in society today, forbidden to the rest of the population, and hence his hierarchical level within it, but at the time he understood and preferred to reject them in exchange for the state of tranquility and control in which it was immersed. It preserves the secret because it prefers a happy world, although it lacks feelings, it prefers to avoid to the world the sufferings of the past.

When he met John he perfectly understood the statements that he made, but he replied one by one indicating that, in the case of being carried out in the way that he intended, they would destroy the peaceful society that had been generated, he himself was a great reader of diverse authors that John knew and it quoted several times, but these pastimes had to do them to the hidden ones.
