Fall of Eagles

The 1996 season was the 24th edition of the World Rally Championship. It began on 9 February with the Rally Sweden and ended on 6 November in Rally Cataluña.

Calendar Equipment Results Pilot Championship Tommi Makinen won his first world title with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III. Builders Championship Production Championship en Hughes, Troya Kennedy Martin, Robert Muller, Jack Pulman, David Turner y Hugh Whitemore.

Music

The music accompanying the title and credits is the Trauermarsch (Funeral March), the first movement of Symphony No. 5 (Mahler). The closing theme music is the central section of the first movement of the Symphony No. 6 (Shostakovich). DVD Release The Fall of Eagles was released on video and DVD in 2004 in the UK with the release featuring an exhaustive booklet of notes written by Andy Priestner providing older details of historical events and new interviews with Gayle Hunnicutt, Charles Kay and David Cunliffe (one of the directors).
